Monster Fingers are the perfect recipe for a Kids Halloween party. These "fingers" get lots of laughs from the kids. And then everyone eats them all up!! They are very tasty and you will have a great time making them. This recipe makes about 40 of these monster fingers. If you think that's not enough you can always make a couple batches.
Here are the ingredients:
2 3/4 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup butter
1 cup powdered sugar
1 1/2 tsp almond extract
sliced almonds or raw pumpkin seeds
In a bowl mix the flour, baking powder and salt.
In a separate bowl beat the butter until creamy, then add powdered sugar, egg and extract.
Slowly add flour mixture and beat until it forms a soft dough. Choose a food coloring to fit the monster: red=devil, green=witch, or blue for ghoul. Cover and chill the dough until firm.
Preheat the oven to 350F and with flour coated hands roll dough roughly into finger thickness and cut into strips slightly longer than normal fingers. Press almonds or seeds into tips to be nails. Use fork for knuckle lines. Bake 18-20 minutes. Cool on wire racks. Serve creatively, out of mason jar or cigar box...lay them out on plates with other foods on them. Make them look like a hand...there are so many creative serving ideas you can use. But however you serve them your guests will love them!
