  • Place the cake on a tray upside down.

  • Arrange the cake pieces as shown, using a small amount of frosting to "glue" the cake to the tray.
Decorating the Robot

Crumb coat the cake. Spread a thin layer of frosting on the top and the sides of the cake.
  • Put cake in frig or freezer for 30 to 60 minutes.
  • Use all the remaining frosting to cover the cake.
  • Cut one of the licorice twists into two pieces, so they are about 1 inch each.
  • Place them in between the body and the head of the cake.
  • Cut up the end of a piece of licorice to make it look like an antenna.
  • Insert that licorice on the top of the head.
  • Use gumdrops on the side of the head as ears. Use fruit rings as eyes, fill each one with a blue candy for pupils
  • Pull apart red licorice to use as a mouth.
  • Use the remaining candy any way you like to decorate your cake.
  • You can use the red licorice as arms and the candy coated chocolates in any decoration you like.
  • Fruit snacks will make a border around the chocolate candies.
  • Use wafer cookies as wheels by inserting them into the base of the cake.
  • This cake recipe serves 12.
