Decorating the Robot
Crumb coat the cake. Spread a thin layer of frosting on the top and the sides of the cake.
Put cake in frig or freezer for 30 to 60 minutes.
Use all the remaining frosting to cover the cake.
Cut one of the licorice twists into two pieces, so they are about 1 inch each. Place them in between the body and the head of the cake. Cut up the end of a piece of licorice to make it look like an antenna. Insert that licorice on the top of the head. Use gumdrops on the side of the head as ears. Use fruit rings as eyes, fill each one with a blue candy for pupils Pull apart red licorice to use as a mouth. Use the remaining candy any way you like to decorate your cake. You can use the red licorice as arms and the candy coated chocolates in any decoration you like. Fruit snacks will make a border around the chocolate candies. Use wafer cookies as wheels by inserting them into the base of the cake. This cake recipe serves 12. Visit BettyCrocker.com for a template for this cake.
