The Hamburger Cake

The Hamburger Cake is a really fun birthday cake design. You can use this cake for any party held out door too. It is perfect for a BBQ or Fourth of July get together. It just yells "Fun", doesn't it? Whoever made this cake is one heck of a decorator.

I think this is the coolest cake for a BBQ party. So that means you can use this cake design all summer long. I actually know how to make cupcakes that look like this, but the cake is beyond my skills.

The cupcakes are made using vanilla wafers as a bun and a thin mint as the burger. Then shredded coconut dyed green is the lettuce. If you put a drop of water on the top of the vanilla wafer and add a couple sesame seeds, they will stay on when the water has dried.

It's really fun to see everyone's faces when they see that tray of cupcakes. You can also make cupcakes that look like they have a hotdog on top by using circus peanuts candy as a roll, so slice it almost in half. Some people use a piece of caramel as the hot dog. Let it sit at room temperature and it will be soft enough for you to mold mini hotdogs. Or you can use put a Hot Tamale candy on it...they look like hot dogs...cute, right?

And you use red or green frosting to look like ketchup and mustard. Fun and easy...now the cake...I don't know. I think there is a lot more to it than this simple cupcake idea.
