Brains on the Half Skull is one of a couple creepy Halloween recipes and it's a main dish. It's really spagetti served in a half of a potato skin. It tastes just like spagetti, but it's serving dish lends something special to the Halloween mood!
Here's an easy Halloween recipe to serve to your children before they head out to trick or treat. Get them into a haunted mood with this gross recipe.
Here are the ingredients for you gross Halloween recipe ideas:
2 medium-sized potatoes
1 8 oz. package thin spaghetti
1 14 oz jar or can of spaghetti sauce
Here's how to prepare your gross dinner idea:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit
Wash the potatoes and cut them in half lengthwise.
Place potatoes, cut side up, on a baking dish.
Bake for 40 minutes.
As the potatoes bake, boil a pot of water and cook the spagetti to your desired tenderness.
Drain the spagetti
Prepare your spagetti sauce by heating it up just a few minutes before the potatoes will be ready.
Take your potatoes out of the oven.
Cut your potatoes in half.
Scoop the insides out of each potatoe half.
These skins will become your "skulls" so keep them intact.
When the sauce is heated, remove it from the stove and pour it into the spagetti.
These are your brains.
Fill each of the empty potatoe skins with some spagetti....there's your bloody brains in a skull.
Just serve it up now.

To make more than four servings, add 1 potatoe for each two servings. When you add an extra potatoe or two, be sure to increase the amount of spagetti and sauce you prepare

Your Cheesey Eyeball ingredients are:
Hungarian sweet paprika-1 teaspoon
All-purpose flour-1 cup
Shredded cheddar cheese-2 cups
Very cold butter-1 stick cut into small cubes
small pimento-stuffed green olives-24 of them
Here's how to put together your gory, scary eyeball recipe:
In a bowl put your salt, paprika and flour.
Whisk the ingredients and set the bowl to the side.
Put the butter and the cheddar cheese in a food processor that is fitted with a metal blade.
Turn it on and pour the flour mixture into the foot chute very SLOWLY.
Stop as soon as all the ingredients are combined.
Do not over process.
Finally, let's make those gross eyeball appetizers.
Using a teaspoon, take spoonfuls of the cheesy mixture and wrap it around an olive so the pimento is looking out of the circle.
There's your eyeball and your pupil.
Put it onto a baking sheet and continue until all your cheese mix is gone.
Make sure to put them on the sheet with the pimento end (the eyeball) looking up!
Keep refrigerated for at least 60 minutes or even as long as overnight.
Bake according to directions below.
If you want to prepare this gross Halloween recipe, you can make it ahead and then freeze your cheesy eyeballs. When you put them into the freezer, let them sit on a tray. When they are frozen, take them and place them into freezer bags. Take them out and let them defrost when you are ready to bake them! Now, right before you serve your cheesy Halloween eyeball appetizers:
Preheat your overn to 40 degrees F.
Put some parchment paper on a baking sheet.
Bake cheesy eyeballs for 15 minutes.
Serve your Halloween eyeballs warm.
