Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

My first Chocolate Chip and Oatmeal Cookie recipe is an old favorite of mine. I got it from an old friend, perhaps you know her...Betty Crocker.

This recipe is called Oatmeal-Chocolate Chip Cookies...but whenever there are chocolate chips in any recipe I give them first billing...I do love my chocolate! These cookies bake up quick...in 9 to 11 minutes and they are full of delicious ingredients...here they are:

  • 1 1/2 c of packed brown sugar
  • 1 c of softened butter or margarine
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 1 lg egg
  • 2 c of quick-cooking oats
  • 1 1/2 c of Gold Medal® all-purpose or unbleached flour
  • 1 tsp of baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp of salt
  • 1 c of semisweet chocolate chips or about 6 oz
  • 1 c of chopped nuts, Optional

You can add cinnamon or some peanut butter to get a little extra flavor in there. Some people also switch the sugar with Splenda to make these cookies low calorie treats.

Here's Another Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookie Recipe

This recipe is from Nestle...the chocolate chip people! It is similar to the Betty Crocker recipe but has more flour, oats and eggs, less sugar. They are both delicious and have chips and oatmeal in them. You can add nuts to either if you like them.
