Barbeque Party Ideas

Get some barbeque party ideas, simple hamburger recipes and fun party games and your set for an outdoor summer party.

The 4th of July is coming up and that's got to be the biggest barbeque party days of the year. That's not the only time you can use your barbeque party ideas. You can use them for graduations, birthdays, wedding receptions and pool parties too, or just a fun get together with friends and family. Planning a BBQ is easy, you only need to get out your simple hamburger recipes, a few cold salads...like macaroni and potato, hot dogs and some watermelon for dessert.

Make sure to call your guests a couple weeks in advance for a simple barbeque. For a more formal party like a graduation or the 4th of July, make it at least a month in advance, since those are special occasions. Also, be sure to have a rain date or back up plan, just in case the weather doesn't ruin your BBQ.

Your barbeque menu can be simple. Burgers and hot dogs, salads and some watermelon make a fine menu, but you can add lots of other summer dishes to your menu if you want to. Meats for a barbeque are:

  • Hamburger Meat
  • Hot Dogs
  • Sausage
  • Chicken
  • Ribs
  • Steak
Barbeque side dishes can include:
  • Macaroni
  • Potato
  • Cole Slaw
  • Three Bean Salad
  • Green Salad
  • Bake Beans
  • Corn on the Cob
  • A Vegetable Tray with Dip
With so many fruits in season plan on a fruit salad. You can cut a watermelon in half, scoop out the fruit and remove the pits and then refill the "watermelon bowl" with the watermelon fruit cut into bite sized pieces. If you want to get really fancy, cut up some honeydew, canteloupe, mango, oranges, throw in some grapes and cherries and that's a tasty, cool and refreshing fruit salad. You can also serve some ice cream, either homemade in your ice cream maker or from a carton you bought at the food store. Get some cones, fill them up and hand them out to your guests. Ice cream cake is another BBQ dessert idea.

Set up the tiki torches if you have some, get some brightly colored table cloths and of course, paper plates, napkins and cups, and your barbeque party decorations are done.

Make sure you have plenty of cold drinks on hand. Fill up a cooler with some ice and put cans of soda and juice inside to keep it cold. There are cute inflatable coolers made just for outdoor parties. They come in fun shapes, like palm tree and pirate treasure chests. It's fun to watch everyone wonder where you got such fun accessories.

The joy of barbeque party ideas is you can make it as simple as you like. It's always a fun party idea and if you have a pool, that makes it even better. Invite everyone over for the 4th of July this year, and have some summer barbeque fun!

Take a look at the picture of our Volcano Luau Birthday Cake! All your party guests will be amazed at the fabulous luau birthday cake with the volcano on it. How about a Luau Party? That's another fun party idea for your barbeque party ideas!
